Christmas just isn’t the same without….

Everyone has certain symbols, ideas and traditions that make Christmas seem like Christmas. Without those certain things, it just wouldn’t feel the same. For me, one of these things are the decorations people put up. At the moment, we have no snow on the ground, with a possibility of snow and rain on Christmas morning. As weird as that is, imagine no snow and no decorations……it just wouldn’t feel like the Christmas season.

At the start of the month, I was in Toronto and got to see the mall all decorated. I’m sure in previous years that I have been down there, it was more decorated, but nonetheless, they are still amazing.

I then went outside, only to find more decorations at Yonge-Dundas square.

Also outside over on queen street, there was a set of about 6 window displays that told a Christmas story, complete with a display. Outside of old city hall, there was a nativity scene display. They also had decorated signs along yonge street and lights all over the place.

The other night, me and my Mom went out to Pickering. My mom saw an amazing display of lights on the news and wanted to check it out. I’m glad I went with her because these lights were amazing. Apparently it raises their bill about 700$, but still its amazing. Here are some pictures of the house and a few houses beside it as well.

What are some of the things that make Christmas what it is for you?? Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!!

  1. It has been tradition in our family ever since I can remember to admire all the lights and trimmins' on our way home from church on Christmas Eve. Some would make you gasp, some would make you say "awwww" and others would just make you silent. It's amazing what some themes and ideas people come up with! Tonight we will carry on the tradition on our way back from the service....and ya know what? There's just enough snow falling to make it even more magical. I enjoyed your pics Trabby! Merry Christmas..xoxo

  2. Merry Christmas Trav...I'm really enjoying reading your blogs. The sure bring back some great memories. Going to see the lights the other night was so neat and I like when we have a chance to do our mother/son events.

Obviously you know our Xmas Eve traditions. We head off to visit Birhanu & Solomon while you head to church (yes I know we should go too) than we all head over to Debbie's for an evening of fun with the whole family. It's a fun night, we talk, we listen to music, we eat, drink and find a game that we can all play together. It's soooooo loud but it's such a great time.

I hope Santa brings you what you're wishing for, well almost everything you've been wishing for. Love ya Trav.....xoxoxoxo
